Here's the latest from the TRM front:

1. TRM's Joe Oddo is Running for US Congress

As per our last update, Joe Oddo is officially running for the U.S. House of Representatives in South Carolina’s 6th Congressional District, the seat currently held by Jim Clyburn and encompassing communities in and around Columbia and North Charleston. 

Oddo’s candidacy marks an important transition for TRM, from an idea and conceptual project and on to an on-the-ground political engagement. Our goals are modest in their immediate milestones, yet ambitious in their long term vision. 

For this election cycle, our aim is to introduce TRM to the electorate at large and to make the case that the time has come for a form of democracy that engages people far more deeply than the current system has allowed. 

We believe the only path forward is a decisive move toward genuine democracy, rather than a reactionary retreat that draws the wrong lessons from the failure of our current, superficial version of it.

We also want to show TRM is not just an interesting idea but a coherent and viable path forward, one that invites us to push beyond the narrow limits of today’s cramped political imagination.

Beyond this election, our objective is to patiently build. 

We intend to recruit a second, a third, and maybe more candidates to run in 2027 (e.g., State races in Virginia and New Jersey), followed by an even broader slate in 2028. 

Step by step, cycle by cycle, we will grow our presence and steadily build the momentum needed to turn a compelling idea into a durable political movement.

But for now, between today and Election Day, November 3rd, 2026, our focus is singular: Spread the word about Joe Oddo's candidacy and about the core TRM ideas.

A key part of Joe Oddo’s campaign is inviting voters in South Carolina’s 6th Congressional District to join the district’s Swarm. If elected, this group would play a direct role in governance by determining how he votes on each piece of legislation that comes before him as a member of Congress.
