AIVILLAGE TECH

I grew up in Chatham, on the South Side of Chicago. Growing up, I watched brilliant kids navigate complex algorithms, build massive audiences, understand viral mechanics, and think in "scroll-time"—all on devices nobody handed them. I saw firsthand that this is a high-level technical skill set.

But then I watched those same kids get passed over for the jobs that required that exact same technology. They were locked out of the tech economy simply because they only understood the tools from the consuming side, rather than the building side.

The AI revolution didn't create this digital divide. It just exposed the one that was already there.

That realization is my purpose, and it is the foundation of AIVillage Tech Institute. We exist to close that specific gap.

My purpose is not to "rescue" opportunity youth from technology; it is to hand them ownership of it. We take the brilliance and ingenuity already present in our neighborhoods and turn it into technical power. We teach our students to build the AI workflows, train the local models, repair the physical hardware, and write the Python scripts that modern employers are actively demanding.

Our students do not leave merely knowing what AI is. They leave with the industry credentials and the portfolios proving they have already built with it.
