This Privacy Statement sets out how ALL RISE (THE BAR) (“ARTB”) uses and protects any information that you give when you make a donation through the Open Collective or email us at [email protected].  
We are committed to ensuring that your privacy is protected. You can be assured that your data will only be used in accordance with this Privacy Notice.  ARTB may change this Privacy Statement at any point.
What we collect
We may collect the following information:
  •     Name, company name and job title
  •     Contact information including email address
  •     Location information such as postcode
  •     Telephone number
  •     Areas of practice or profession 
What we do with the information we gather
We require this information in order to accept donations from you through the Open Collective and/or post your pin(s) and bookmark(s) to you or your chambers/work-place or other location you direct.  Your information is used:
  •     In order to process your donations
  •     Send the pins/bookmarks to you
  •     In order to respond to any emails or enquiries for you

(“the Original Purpose”)

We will only use your personal data for the purposes stated above, unless we reasonably consider that we need to use it for another reason and it is compatible with the Original Purpose. Please contact us for an explanation as to how any new processing is compatible with the Original Purpose.
If we need to use your personal data for an unrelated purpose, we will notify you and explain the legal basis which allows us to do so. Please note that we may process your personal data without your knowledge or consent, in compliance with the above rules, where this is required or permitted by law.
Please be assured that we will not sell, distribute or lease your personal information to third parties unless we are required by law to do so.
We are committed to ensuring that your information is secure. In order to prevent unauthorised access or disclosure we have put in place suitable physical, electronic and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure any information we may collect online.  The only persons who have access to your details are the administrators of ARTB (as both Data Handlers, Data Processors and Data Handlers), whose details appear on the Open Collective webpage.
Third Party websites and entities
Please note that we do not have any control over the Open Collective website, Gmail (outside the specified address of [email protected]) or our respective chambers’ websites.  We do not have any control over the third parties assisting us in relation to the Original Purpose, which includes the chambers of the Data Handlers, Data Processors and Data Handlers (presently 3PB Barristers, Hardwicke Chambers and Exchange Chambers) and assistance in meeting the Original Purpose may also be sought from the Inns of Court, Bar Council and other Specialist Bar Associations in respect of whom we do not exercise any control.
We cannot be responsible for the protection and privacy of any information you provide whilst visiting or donating through the Open Collective or accessing it through third party websites and such sites are not governed by this Privacy Statement. You should exercise caution and look at the Privacy Statement. applicable to the website in question.
Your privacy rights
We do consider the legal basis of your interactions with ARTB and have processes in place to take to meet the requirements of GDPR.  You have the right to be informed, to have access to your data, to delete your data, to restrict processing as well as the right to your data’s portability as well as the right to object and rights in relation to automated decision-making and profiling. 
You may request details of personal information which we hold about you under the Data Protection Act 1998. If you believe that any information we are holding on you is incorrect or incomplete, please write to or email us as soon as possible, at the above address. We will promptly correct any information found to be incorrect.
