Amber Craig

Amber has worked extensively in the Information Technology space since she was seventeen. 

Her work has taken her into IT architecture in the Telecommunications and Banking Industry creating Strategies for their technology rollouts. Her work has also had her heavily involved in the delivery of these strategies.

While doing this she co-founded Whare Hauora with Hīria Te Rangi to establish a Māori charity organisation that stood strong in the values of te ao Māori and implemented Māori Data Sovereignty principles. 

Recently Amber gave up the corporate world to come home to her tūrangawaewae (homeland) in Wairarapa to find her whānau stories and sense of belonging. Her recent endeavours have had her join her whānau on the journey to protect their waters, land and rebuild their hapū with innovative and autonomous solutions. 

She is the co-founder of organisations Te Rua o Mahara Wairarapa, Tumu Labs and Te Whare Hangahanga and represents her whānau, hapū and iwi on multiple boards and committees.
