Art Through the Heart

Art Through the Heart delivers free, accessible workshops to celebrate community spirit and strength through art.
 
Hands on Hearts is the collective's first project.

Hands on Hearts brings people together to make giant bunting chains of hands and hearts. It started during the 2020 lockdown and has been growing slowly since then.

We are currently fundraising to fund workshops and an exhibition for the Hands on Hearts project.

We also have exciting ideas in the pipeline for new projects - all participatory and all focused on bringing people together to freely express themselves through art (from and through the heart!).

The Hands on Hearts workshops are a simple, engaging way to bring people together to connect with each other in a positive, warm and inviting atmosphere.
   
Art Through the Heart is not a formal community group - this is a grassroots project being co-ordinated by project co-founder Helen McCormack, working on a voluntary basis and supported by the team of amazing and committed volunteers. We have also received huge support from local businesses and charities.

Earlier in 2024 we were thrilled to receive our first grant, from Camden Giving, a grant maker local to where we are based, which allowed us to grow our project by running a series of workshops in a school, a charity, a tenants residents association on a housing estate. We used the grant to employ freelance faciliators, focusing on recruiting local residents who faced barriers to paid work in the arts.  The workshops were a great success and we look forward to sharing the beautiful work created in both Camden and beyond at an exhibition soon.
