New Aid Delivery of Medical Items
Published on February 16, 2025 by PhillC

Despite all the talk of peace and ending the war, combat continues in Ukraine. While some may feel the end is in sight, there's really no telling how long the active phase of the war will continue. Even after the end of hostilities there will remain a substantial need for medical support. Many areas of the country have active minefields and other unexploded munitions. These will cause civilian injuries. Other towns and villages require complete rebuilding and the remaining residents are unlikely to have immediate access to basic supplies for some time. This is still all in the future, so for now we continue to deliver mostly tactical medical aid, along with some other requested items.

This week we sent a new delivery of items to the Solidarity Collectives for distribution as needed. Our aid included the following items:

  • adjustable nasopharyngeal airway tubes
  • vented chest seals
  • Bluetooth pulse oximeters
  • haemostatic gauze dressings
  • trauma bandages, 15cm width
  • burn dressings
  • burn gel sachets
  • hypothermia blankets with heatpads (regular and XL size)
  • flexible splints
  • Tasmanian Tiger brand IFAK pouches
  • z-fold gauze dressings
  • trauma shears

Without the ongoing support of contributors on Open Collective, we certainly could not have delivered this amount. Thanks to everyone who has assisted over the last few years. We continue to look for ways to support paramedics and other medical staff in remote and austere environments with whatever items they need.
