I am applying to contribute towards the costs of the membership for the centre where I "play" Capoeira in Birmingham. I have been attending the centre since the middle of September 2022. The community of people who attend and who I have got to know include other educators and teachers. In addition to the space to play capoeira, learn about Brazilian culture and improve my language skills, the centre also acts as a place to decompress and from the work I do with Primary schools and Supplementary Schools from Monday to Saturday. In addition, the things I learn in Capoeira, especially the ways and ethos of teaching, contribute to the other spaces that I work in
I am submitting an application for £1000 to cover the cost of 12 months membership of the centre. £70 for 12 months equals £840. The remaining £160 will go towards the cost of the 3 annual events that are organised to celebrate respectively: International Woman's Day (Maria do Combata) (Cost of £70), the annual grading event (Batizado) and the end of year of celebration event (Cost of £70).

Only current youth led recipients of Blagrave funding, either through The Challenge and Change or Pathways Program, are eligible to have expenses covered through this funding.
We will only accept expenses covering personal or organizational development and wellbeing opportunities For a more comprehensive list of what expenses we will and won’t accept under the partner development fund, please see our website. We will not pay for events or training that have already taken place.

All applications will be reviewed weekly. We aim to make all payments within 3 weeks of your application.

By submitting an application, I confirm that I will use the funding as outlined in the grant details description box. I will share receipts and any other proof of expenditure that The Blagrave Trust requests. I understand that The Blagrave Trust reserves the right to request the return of the expense in the event of suspected misuse of funding.

How are expenses approved?
Collective admins are notified when an expense is submitted, and they can approve or reject it.
Is my private data made public?
No. Only the expense amount and description are public. Attachments, payment info, emails and addresses are only visible to you and the admins.
When will I get paid?
Payments are processed by the Collective's Fiscal Host, the organization that hold funds on their behalf. Many Fiscal Hosts pay expenses weekly, but each one is different.
Why do you need my legal name?
The display name is public and the legal name is private, appearing on receipts, invoices, and other official documentation used for tax and accounting purposes.
