It's been almost nine months since I launched toot.bldrweb.org. Initially it wasn't clear if this was just a short lived experiment or if this thing might stick around for a while, so it made sense to just cover the hosting costs out of my own pocket. Now that it seems like people sort of enjoy this whole fediverse/activitypub thing, I think it's time to see if others might want to help cover some of the hosting expenses. 

I looked at several options for crowdsourcing to cover the expenses, and Open Collective really stood out for the transparency it provides regarding income and expenses. I want to give this a shot. It looks promising, but do let me know what you think. Reach out on Mastodon or send me a message here through OC.
