There are some transactions in the budget where I've contributed chunks of cash as Blorbo Admin. This is because those contributions came through Patreon, and I finally worked out how to get donations out of Patreon ahahaha it wasn't easy.

Anyway! For the sake of tracking donations and expenses, I put all the donations from Patreon into our Open Collective.

At present, the only withdrawals from our Open Collective are the monthly hosting bills from toot.io. I pay those out of my personal funds, and submit an expense claim through Open Collective. Then, when there are enough funds in the Open Collective, I receive reimbursement.

Most of the time, the contributions don't fully cover the hosting costs, and that's fine.

But I think we're almost at the point where the contributions might cover hosting costs. Yay!

Any time that contributions exceed hosting costs, we'll leave the funds in our Open Collective as a buffer.

If the buffer ever gets large enough to seem like it's Too Much Money, we'll ask for community discussions about what we should do with the buffer. But I think we're still a fair way away from that point.
