The Campbell family community has a huge job to archive and find homes for all the
Family Political, Peace and Environmental archives, banners and artworks.

Some of this, is already in national and regional museums and archives, including the National Library of Wales, the Imperial War Museum, the Peace Museum etc.

We are working towards a big retrospective of their work in a few years time. The first step is the conservation and sorting of 70 years of grassroots history and art, so it does not end up in a skip. We obviously have no funding or institutional support to start this.

To this end, we are setting up a #DIY family “foundation” at opencollective https://opencollective.com/campbell-archive to host information, make collective decisions and organise, sustain and fund the collection and memory.

For the funding side, we are looking for a part of this to come from sustaining donations, from supporters, friends, “fellow travellers” and institutions. We have tens of thousands of classic original 1980’s post cards, posters and books on mea subjects, Peace, Greenham, Unions, Suffrage and more radical history, that need new homes, and would be donated to the people who support this project.

Levels of donation:

Supporter - L1 £5 a month – one pack of ten postcards end of first year.

Sustainer - L2 £10 a month – gets one pack of ten postcards a year

Helper - L3 £20 a month – gets one pack of ten postcards a year, and a book or poster

Builder - L4 £50 a month – gets big bundle of postcards a year, a one of all books/posters we have on hand.

One off donation £20 a pack of post cards

One off donation £50 a pack of ten postcards, and a book/poster

One off donation £100 one of each post card and each book or poster we have at hand

All decisions about the family archive are made up of all the members of the opencollective site. The donation role is a responsibility that works by one designated member of the extended family, taking on the role of posting out these packages each year and dealing with any admin issues that come up. They can be paid for their time with say 10-20% of the money that comes in that year to cover expensive and time. This is a roted role within the group of people who are interested in doing this. We can bulk package up the cards in tens etc. to make this an easy task.
