About
Chaddlewood Youth Partnership
The Chaddlewood Youth Partnership brings together local charities, community centres, and social enterprises to create a coordinated programme of youth opportunities across Plympton. Through sport, creative activity, mentoring, and wellbeing support, we aim to give young people safe, positive safe spaces to belong. Anchored by Hillcrest Community Centre CIC, Carl’s Boxing Stable CIC, and Chaddlewood Farm Community Association, the project connects existing youth provision with new opportunities led by Argyle Community Trust, CAP, and local schools. Together, we will co-design activities that build confidence, reduce antisocial behaviour, and promote health, belonging, and resilience among local young people and families.
Describe how your project intends to provide social or environmental benefit for Plymouth
The project directly contributes to Plymouth’s social and wellbeing goals by investing in young people as future contributors in their community. Through physical activity (boxing, football, taekwondo), mentoring, and educational workshops around alcohol awareness, healthy choices, and community responsibility, we will reduce isolation and antisocial behaviour while improving self-esteem and health outcomes.
Through the power of youth voice we will aim to find out exactly what young people would like us to offer and will aim to bring the expertises across the group to bring these ideas to life and if we cannot we will look to partner with other local organisations who can support these needs.
All the members have a shared belief in partnership working and an understanding that in these times of cuts and stretched capacity, the only way to deliver impactful youth services is through working together to codesign youth provision with young people. We will collaborate through making use of our indoor and outdoor community spaces , sign posting to each other, and supporting the councils youth outreach team. We will recognise and draw upon one another’s expertise in order to provide the best possible outcomes for young people.
Environmental benefits will come through engaging positively in community spaces to promote a shared ownership of outdoor public places. This could include linking with existing projects lead by groups such as Pollenize, Chaddlewood FANS and street artists.
We will draw on learning from other successful project in the City such as Belong in Plymouth and Connecting Youth CIC. We will also connect with organisations such as Young Devon, The Zone, The Zebra Collective and Plymouth City Council’s Community Connections.
We will aim to collect pre and post feedback from the young people involved to measure key areas such as: Satisfaction levels within young people of the opportunities available locally, collections of quantitative data such as number of young people engaged as a unique number alongside the number of attendees per week to measure the growth and development of this offer, measurement of the young peoples well being, gaining an understanding if they believe they are being listened to locally (Pre & Post)
Describe how your Collective formed
The Chaddlewood Youth Partnership formed organically through shared conversations among local organisations already delivering youth, sport, and community programmes. A joint working group formed following at a neighbourhood community building event, the three anchor POP members – Hillcrest Community Centre CIC, Chaddlewood Farm Community Association, and Carl’s Boxing Stable CIC – identified a gap in joined-up youth provision. Exploration sessions in April and October 2025, facilitated at the Hillcrest Centre, brought together partners including Argyle Community Trust, Community Alcohol Partnerships (CAP), Plymouth Community Homes, and KMB Taekwondo. The group agreed to collaborate formally, pooling expertise and facilities to make best use of their assets, share data and evaluation, and co-design activities with young people themselves.
