ccma @ Shortridge 'We Are a Community' Day!

On August 2nd, 2023, a group of four ccma neighbors had a great time going to Shortridge High School for their annual Day of Service. We took the opportunity to tell the class about our Sunday Shares distribution events and our Tuesday Prepares events. We also discussed what mutual aid means to each of us, and we asked the students to share their experience in helping their neighbors. Afterward, we showed them 'What is Mutual Aid' by Dean Spade.
- The students had a great time preparing:
- 50 oral hygiene kits
- 32 shave kits
- and 81 laundry kits!
It was such a hit, we have even been asked to come back in 2024! We cannot wait to teach more students about the importance of building community.
