CONTEXT OF THE STRIKE
Zambia is in the middle of a huge debt crisis. The pandemic has pushed debts up, leaving little to spend on health, education and social protection.
Despite this, one of its biggest lenders, the financial giant BlackRock, has so far refused to cancel or restructure any of the country's debts.
We are coming together again and stepping up the game by targeting financial colonialism black rock and IMF.
We are demanding for debt cancellation to enable a just transition.
We are striking on a global day of action on a historic date for debt cancellation 27th February is the 70th anniversary of Nazi German's debt cancellation after WW11.
Zambia needs and deserves debt cancellation!
