Clara M. Garcia

Clara is a feminist and social justice activist interested in language justice and cross-border organising. She speaks four European languages and has lived cross-territories in Spain, Brazil, Italy and the UK in the last decade. As a result of that, she became involved in ensuring language justice within the organizations she was involved in and participated in transnational spaces in every collective she’s been a part of. Her MA was centered on the development of transnational strategies, tactics and politics within the transnational feminist movement. 

Clara was one of the coordinators of the COP26 Language Justice team - recruiting and training over 400 volunteer interpreters to provide language services for The People’s Summit and delivering in-person and digital interpretation for more than 40 events, sessions and movement assemblies.

During the past year, she has worked for a Latin-American-based union in the UK enabling multilingual political organising.
