About

https://www.codetracer.com/6-minute-intro

The goal of the CodeTracer project is to make time-travel and omniscient debugging practical in all programming languages.

Long-term, CodeTracer will enable truly novel programming experiences where debugging and interactive programming blend together — imagine working on a game where you can modify the behavior of an NPC or the physics of the world by hot-reloading code. Everything would be recorded on the fly, so whenever you notice something unusual, you can immediately investigate what just happened — without restarting the game. This is the vision we are after.

In the looming age of AI, the rich details captured by CodeTracer create a treasure trove for debugging automation. Its interactive environment can make programming more fluid and expressive — you might describe your ideas in natural language and watch an AI agent implement them in real time. Meanwhile, your ability to debug will only become more crucial as you inevitably stray away from the happy path into an ever-expanding landscape of foreign code.
