Donation update: helping Nourhan rebuild
Published on April 12, 2025 by Billy Ruffian

Thank you so much for your generous donations to our evacuation fund. We’re using this fund to help families who are in dire need of money to relocate within Gaza away from more dangerous areas, or to rebuild their living supplies after a sudden displacement.

Nourhan’s is one of these families, and it’s hard to imagine her situation being more extreme. She, her husband and their two small children have been living in a tent since being displaced from their home early in the genocide. Returning during the ‘ceasefire,’ they found their house entirely destroyed with very little salvageable.
Nourhan’s children, Najat and Mohammed, before the genocide.

They lived in a nearby camp for two months, where conditions were awful - there was no water, electricity or sanitation and very little food. Then on the breakdown of the ceasefire, their camp was attacked suddenly and at night, forcing the family to flee with only what they were wearing and a few belongings. They are traumatised, currently living in another tent with relatives. They need to replace everything, including their tent, clothing, bedding and cooking equipment. Her three-year-old son Mohammed had to be rushed to hospital with an asthma attack a few days ago.

We were so glad to be able to lift Nourhan’s burden a little bit by boosting her monthly contribution from the general fund with £218.24 from this evacuation fund, giving her a total of £518.24 towards replacing her family’s living essentials. We couldn’t help her without you - thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
