About

Beet Street is a collaborative project that is coordinated by a Food Insecurity Mutual Aid Group hosted through the Chicagoland Food Sovereignty Coalition. The coordinators behind this project are all Queer, Trans, and/or BIPOC folks invested in dreaming about and building more radical and liberated food systems. The intent behind this project is to create a platform where other food system practitioners can come together to dream and build with us.

Beet Street is a zine that share the stories of food systems and networks in the lands surrounding Ininwewi-gichigami {Lake Michigan} through artwork, poems, stories, love letters, calls to action, recipes, and various other mediums. Each edition will have its own theme centered around specific ingredients and content submitted will be asked to align with the theme.

Interested in making a submission? Send one into: [email protected] to be featured in future editions.

Beet Street will be distributed in print and digitally.
