About

Concrete Cost Calculator estimates what a home concrete job costs in your area, using public government data and showing where every number comes from.

What it does
Concrete Cost Calculator is a free set of calculators for U.S. homeowners planning concrete work: a concrete pad calculator, a concrete yard calculator, a concrete block calculator, a concrete driveway cost calculator, a concrete patio cost calculator, and a rebar calculator. Pick a project, enter your size and ZIP code, and you get a price range for your metro area.
Each estimate is a fixed setup cost plus a per square foot rate for material and labor. That is why a small pad costs more per square foot than a large driveway, and the calculator shows it instead of hiding it behind one flat rate.

Where the numbers come from
Labor is built from U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data for cement masons and concrete finishers in 393 metro areas. Material prices start from the 2022 Economic Census and are brought forward with a producer price index. Every input carries a SOURCED, CALIBRATED, or ESTIMATE label, and the methodology page explains how every estimate is built.

Open source
The cost model is published as an open-source cost model on GitHub, so anyone can check the math or reuse it.

Known limits
Wage data is released once a year and runs about a year behind. Material prices only go down to the national level and four broad regions. Estimates likely run low for jobs past about 1,000 sq ft, and the setup fee is our own calibrated figure. Every number is a planning range: get a written quote from a licensed contractor before you build.
