About
The DC Mutual Aid Apothecary (DCMA) is a volunteer-led, mutual aid organization in DC that was founded in 2020 as a response to COVID-19. Over the past three years, DCMA has grown from a rapid response project to an intentional network of herbalists, herbal enthusiasts, community health practitioners, farmers and organizers who work together to provide accessible herbal products, education, consultations and resources to an intergenerational community in DC. Rooted in practices of community care, DCMA is working to create a more just food and health care system in DC by strengthening and growing an alternative vision for what health looks like for our community. Our mission is to connect our community to accessible herbal medicine and education, reconnect to ancestral plant knowledge, steward the land we are on with care, and distribute free herbal products to residents in Washington DC’s Ward 7 and 8.
