About
During the summer holidays, Decolonised Networking and SE15 Community Fund are running a 6 week long Zine project.
During this project, we will provide young Black and People of Colour (BPOC) participants with the tools, guidance and support to produce a zine; a single or short run magazine, adbout the area of SE15 through their eyes: what the area means to them, its past in their early childhood and how they see themselves fitting in with the area in the future. They will be able to articulate and express these topics however they choose to, with the support of our team. We will be encouraging them to explore these themes in their own unique way; whether this be a scientific interpretation or inspiration for a poem or painting.
Upon completion, the zine will be presented in a celebratory exhibition, where friends and family are able to come and view and enjoy their work.
We are able to provide the young people with payment for their participation in the project as well as giving them access to software such as Adobe and research tools.
Our project is also fully accessible to all young participants, ensuring availability of laptops for young people without access to one at home. We have received funding to ensure there is no digital exclusion.

The end goal is to offer and amplify perspectives of Peckham from marginalised voices who have grown up in the area, invite them to be part of a local community initiative, as well as creating a historical snapshot of SE15 in 2021.
