The Democratic Tech Fund is setting up a community platform to mobilise people and funding towards the development, learning and adoption of democratic tech. Our high level goal is the transition towards collective digital autonomy.

Therefore, we’re developing the Democratic Tech Fund as a federated, bottom-up organised gift-based fund for democratic tech initiatives in our cities and regions. We're in prototyping mode, to define use cases that need our help, design the collective funding process and infrastructure, shape the membership and governance process and connect with the many like minded communities who are working towards the same end.

Early contributors include the Free Knowledge Institute, Commons Network, Platoniq Foundation / Goteo, Waag Futurelab, the Co-operative Cloud Federation, eCommons, OpenTech(AUC).
