New Goal: Full Time Work on DevShop & Aegir Cloud AWS
Published on April 15, 2019 by Jon Pugh

Hi everyone, thanks for stopping by.

This is really the first time I've ever reached out to raise funds for this open source project.

After 7 years of code, I'm not sure why I never got around to doing this. I guess I was raised with a certain stigma against asking for help.

This is the start of a new era for me. I've always received great feedback and open source love from DevShop, but now it's time to make sure this project is sustainable for the long haul.

New Goal: Full Time Work on DevShop

I'm going for it: If I get enough contributions, I can work on this project full time without any restrictions.

So I've set two new goals: $6000 per month and I will commit half my time to DevShop. If we hit $12,000, I won't have to work anywhere else. 100% Open Source code and community management!

I've created new Tiers for Backers and Sponsors. I am going to create a BACKERS.md file in the project to recognize all backers and sponsors. All sponsors get a logo in the file, Gold and Platinum sponsorships will get high visibility logo placement throughout the README, websites, and documentation.

New Goal: Aegir Cloud: AWS

We are opening up funding for Aegir Cloud: AWS integration.

We can already launch servers ihttps://opencollective.com/devshopn DigitalOcean, Packet.net, and Softlayer using the Aegir Cloud modules. With your help, you will be able to use Aegir and DevShop to launch new cloud servers in Amazon Web Services with a click of a button!

Better Fundraising for Open Source Projects

OpenCollective has been really inspiring in getting this all together. In addition, big thanks to Evan You for creating an inspiring OpenCollective and Patreon for Vue.js. See his pages at https://opencollective.com/vuejs and https://www.patreon.com/evanyou

Check out our new tiers and goals at https://opencollective.com/devshop and let us know what you think.

Please consider becoming a backer of sponsor!
