About
Django Email Learning is an open-source Django application (currently in development) that brings education directly to learners’ inboxes, making knowledge accessible even in underserved regions. Inspired by the now-defunct Darsnameh service, the project revives and expands the concept of email-based learning by enabling administrators to create courses, lessons, and quizzes delivered on a schedule, without requiring high-bandwidth platforms or complex interfaces. By leveraging the simplicity and universality of email, the system empowers learners facing challenges such as poor internet connectivity, restrictive censorship, or limited access to modern devices. Features like automated progress tracking, timed lesson delivery, and verifiable completion certificates aim to foster inclusive, resilient, and accessible open education.
The project is actively maintained by AvaCode Solutions LLC, a Dubai Free Zone registered software consultancy, together with independent open-source contributors.
Contributions to this collective are treated as sponsorships that directly support the development, maintenance, and documentation of the project. The core maintainer may invoice their work at a rate of 85 USD per hour, capped at 40 hours per week.
As a sponsor, your organization may receive public recognition such as logo placement in the GitHub repository, project documentation, and website, depending on the selected sponsorship tier.
Sponsorship funds are used to compensate developers and contributors through the Open Collective expense system and may also support essential growth-related activities such as graphic design, events, and marketing to increase platform visibility. All payouts are transparent and subject to review and approval.
