Grant #53405 to COP26 Fundraiser

 My name is Brian Maina K, a Youth4Climate delegate representing Kenya and the Co-Chair to the African Youth4Climate Initiative comprising 130 youth delegates from all the 54 African countries at PreCOP26 in Milan, Italy. I am also a strong believer of we don't have time to solve the climate crisis as well as this years cohort at The Climate Reality Project. I am the founder of a social startup eradicating plastics by introducing biodegradable and compo-stable tableware made from leaves. 

I have been selected to represent Kenya and youth from the Global South as well as facilitate an African themed session at COY16 (Conference of Youth) in Glasgow, Scotland in a few days. I have also received my UNFCCC accreditation badge to attend Cop26. I am kindly reaching out to request for your financial support so as to make it to COP26.

For me to successfully attend both COY16 and COP26 I need to raise a total of 1,800 (Euros) this will cover my flights (875 Euros), accommodation (540 Euros), Rapid covid test (25 Euros) and food (360 Euros). Any financial support towards achieving my goal will be highly appreciated.

My flight to Glasgow is planned for Tuesday the 26th October, this is to make sure that I can attend the opening plenary at Conference of Youth 16 and join in the meeting for all facilitators on the 28th

I reached out to you because we are both trying to impact change in the world through combating climate change. I believed and said if am meant to attend and represent young people from marginalized communities and the global south someone in the sustainable field will hear me out, get to know me and support me.
