About
Vending, also known as tabling, allows artists to get together at makers markets & local events in order to network with other creatives, as well as share our art & wares for sale or perusing.
However, there are behind the scenes costs that go into organizing, setting up, & executing these plans, and to cover the labor & expenses, the venues & event staff often require application fees as well as additional vendor fees once the application has been approved. These fees can be quite hefty at times, with some seasonal passes for example, costing over $150 up front with additional $35 daily vending fees, not including the cost of vendors insurance, or additional on-site resources such as electricity access.
These fees can serve as a significant barrier for artists, many of whom have to work multiple jobs to make ends meet & as such cannot always front the costs necessary in order to attend events. Our members will often attempt to pool funds to front the costs, and then submit the expense for reimbursement after.
This project will allow our members to submit expenses, as well as creating a platform for our neighbors and community to donate to supporting our members in covering these costs.
