I'm Flor Dos Reis, founder and builder of LOFT Community.
After living for 2 years in Algarve, working from home, and having the challenge of not being able to meet people to make friends, share activities, and feel at home, I was considering moving out of Algarve.
One day, in October 2023, I co-hosted an afterwork in Olhao to see if there was anyone out there also working from home and looking for connections. That day 30 people showed up and seeing everyone enjoying of finding others gave me the motivation to do more.
Since then I started to host many events, different formats, spread the word, and that's how in less than 4 months LOFT came to life. A community of remote professionals and entrepreneurs based across 4 municipalities: Loulé, Olhao, Faro & Tavira.
There's a strong purpose, a clear vision, and an honest spirit of building a strong community that allows people to feel at home, make friends, spark opportunities and enjoy life together.
We came this far thanks to our consistent comitment to push for this, help others, collaborate, and grow side by side. We are givers, and we invite everyone to give more than they take.
Communities don't happen magically. There's a lot of work behind. A silent and volunteer work. That's how communities like LOFT can stay alive.
We invite everyone who beleives in us and what we do to support LOFT so we can do more, better, and continue to create a positive impact for every remote professional who chooses this region as their home.
