2023 FLOWLab⁵ Year End Wrap Up
Published on December 23, 2023 by Emily Weltman
It’s been a minute since we shared what we’re up to with FLOWLab⁵ and we’re finishing out an amazing 2nd year of growth and community support from our mutual learning society.
2023 was BIG, which we’ll highlight below, and in our soon-to-be-published Annual Report.
First, a moment to reflect on what this community means to us and our members.
We started with a Theory of Change that more of us will thrive in business if we have a supportive community the first 5 years of any workplace transition. So far, so good.
We are profoundly impacted by each and every member’s passionate pursuits, especially when our collective actions contribute to the betterment of humanity. When engaged in work we love, whether it’s crafting sustainable solutions, advancing educational initiatives, or fostering communities of inclusivity, the gratification we feel in supporting this group is immeasurable.
THANK YOU to everyone who supported us, joined, sponsored, came to an office hours, or shouted about us in the comments of LinkedIn or to friends and colleagues. The knowledge that we’re supporting people committed to positive change fuels us, even when social justice and social entrepreneurship is tough. YOU are our motivation
We are beyond excited for 2024, to grow along side you and help you find your way.

JUST A FEW of our Member’s Wins:
- Lisa Marie Tulipiani, disability advocate and full time caregiver to her awesome kid Petey had a BIG year. Petey started school and is thriving, so Lisa finally got a “break” which she wasted not one minute of. She got work, upgraded to a GLOW member, and along with her co-organizers won a $75k Grant for the Lynn Disability Network.
- Author Sharon Hurley Hall, our resident “I can’t believe I have FOMO with an actual group of people” member had a BIG year for her brand. She successfully launched a book and increased her newsletter to 6k subscribers, and after a tough exit from one startup, co-founded Mission Equality and landed their first big client.
- Toki Toguri’s has had a challenging year and we look forward to seeing more of her in 2024. Her startup Diverst was acquired (YAY!) an d she retained CEO, and went from our very first guest to our first corporate sponsor! (THANK YOU!)
- Sam Chavez started out strong with FLOWLab, immediately pivoting her brand to Roots of Change, taking to social media, amping up her newsletter, and producing content and toolkits at an impressive scale.
- Oli Dierickx continued to strategize how to launch his neuro-language coaching, found his confidence in hosting several LinkedIn Live convos, and shared his energy, voice, and videos in abundance.
This is NOT an exhaustive list and everyone of our members makes an impact every single day. We are not interested in community at scale or exponential growth. We're here for the long haul and a sustainable way to build businesses for good, ensuring we're being good humans too. If you're interested in learning more, come to office hours in January! The 2nd Tuesday of the month is an info session. Subscribe to our luma calendar here, and HAPPY NEW YEAR!
