Das Coronavirus verändert Leben und Aktivismus
Seit Beginn der Pandemie werden wir alle mit akuten gesellschaftlichen, gesundheitlichen und politischen Herausforderungen konfrontiert. Schon als die Fallzahlen erstmals in die Höhe schnellten, erkannte auch Fridays for Future die immense Verantwortung aller im Kampf gegen das Virus und sagte anstehende Demonstrationen ab.
Plötzlich mussten neue, kreative Formen des Protests her. Zum Glück waren die Fridays for Future Ortsgruppen dieser Aufgabe gewachsen. Bereits seit Frühjahr organisieren sie nun digitale Demos und verlegen Workshops, Seminare und Co. ins Internet.
So konnte bisher sichergestellt werden, dass der Klimaschutz auch in Zeiten von Corona nicht in Vergessenheit gerät.

Der Klimawandel bedroht unsere Existenz
Auch in der Pandemie schreitet die Klimakrise unermüdlich voran. Politiker*innen haben in der Pandemie zwar bewiesen, dass sie verantwortlich und konsequent handeln können, scheinen aber die immense Gefahr der drohenden Klimakatastrophe immer noch nicht erkannt zu haben. Klimaziele werden weder eingehalten noch hoch genug gesteckt. Stattdessen sollen klimaschädliche Industriezweige um jeden Preis „gerettet“ werden.

Klima Aktivismus ist jetzt wichtiger denn je – wir leben in einer kritischen, alles entscheidenden Zeit. Die Zukunft hängt an uns!

Der Protest geht weiter…

Darum geht Fridays for Future am 25.09.20 wieder auf die Straße – natürlich mit einem strengen Hygienekonzept und in enger Absprache mit örtlichen Behörden. Diese erste globale Demo nach solch einer langen Pause darf nichts anderes als ein Riesenerfolg werden. Wir, denen die Zukunft am Herzen liegt, müssen zeigen, dass wir weiterkämpfen und nicht aufhören werden, bis die Klimakrise oberste Priorität ist.

Dafür brauchen wir Deine Unterstützung! Fridays for Future bindet sich nicht an Parteien oder sonstige Organisationen. Der Protest wird deswegen ausschließlich durch Deine Hilfe finanziert. Das ist in Zeiten von Social Distancing so leider nicht auf den Demonstrationen möglich.

Wenn Du Dich auch für den Klimschutz einsetzen möchtest und die Mittel dafür hast, überlege Dir doch Fridays for Future zu unterstützen. 100% deiner Hilfe wird für den Kampf gegen die Klimakrise verwendet! Jedes Gesicht auf unseren Protesten macht einen Unterschied! Geh mit uns gemeinsam auf die Straße! Für eine gerechte und lebenswerte Zukunft! 

Support Fridays for Future during the pandemic and support our future protests!

COVID-19 changes our lives and our activism

Since the beginning of the pandemic, the world has had to face urgent political, social and health concerns. Naturally, Fridays for Future recognizes that it is the responsibility of each and every one of us to prevent the virus from spreading further. With this in mind, Fridays for Future decided to cancel any upcoming protests until the situation had stabilized.

Albeit necessary, this wasn’t an easy step. Suddenly, new, safe and creative forms of activism were needed. Thankfully, the activists of Friday for Future have proven to measure up to the challenge. Since spring they have now been organizing digital protests, seminars and workshops to make sure that the impending climate catastrophe won’t slip our collective memory.

Climate change threatens our existence

The pandemic won’t bring climate change to a standstill. On the contrary, although politicians have now proven that they are able act quickly and responsibly, they still haven’t recognized the climate crisis as the existential threat it truly is. Instead of setting ambitious goals to halt climate change and working to meet them, climate-damaging industries are at the centre of governmental rescue efforts.

We live in a crucial time in which climate activism is more important than ever. The future depends on us!

The protest must go on

That is why Fridays for Future will be marching again on 25.09.2020 – in a safe and responsible way and only in consultation with local authorities, of course. After such a long break the first global climate protest mustn’t be anything but a huge success. As the ones working towards a better future, we must show that we are still fighting and that we won’t stop until the climate crisis is regarded as the utmost priority.

You can help!

To make that happen we need your support. Fridays for Future isn’t connected to any political parties or organizations. Therefore, all activism is made possible purely by your help. That, however, isn’t possible in the time of social distancing, because we would normally collect help at our protests.
