About
From The Ground Up Collective is a consensus based movement of community members who
have several years of experience coordinating mutual aid resource distribution and organizing
with the northside houseless community. Our group consists of individuals with particular
strengths and experiences in farming, urban gardening, political education, transformative/deescalation
work, and community building. Our aim is to take a hands-on approach to resource
redistribution: accessing private and city owned land wealth on the northside to redistribute
resources to those with less perceived ownership.
We intend to do this through several projects:
• Growing gardens: Building a Northside Yard/Land-Sharing Network, the harvest of which would go towards...
• Establishing a community gathering space + kitchen + hot food distribution for houseless neighbors/acquiring mobile cooking materials for houselss neighbors like grills. Working with local farms to purchase bulk sustainably raised meat and produce for these neighbors and distros we do with them.
• Helping establish more cold and bulk food storage options for North Side mutual aid groups
