We're a millennial-led online newspaper covering technology, culture, and politics in the U.S. Virgin Islands. We've been around since our launch in 2017 and operate similarly to a startup. Our newsroom priorities transform frequently, projects die, and our operations are primarily self-funded.

Our team includes some brilliant young people and a growing number of individuals with backgrounds that support the growth of our newsroom. In 2018, we launched advertisements for the first time, a move that completely changed the quality of our news product.

Our current model is not sustainable, and we're keen to change that in a way that reinforces our commitment to ethical news. And we aren't interested in selling our souls for a couple of bucks. So we've decided to slowly phase out our advertising product and replace it with crowdfunding on a global scale.
