We have had a successful GeekBeaconFest 2023.  If you're not familiar with it, GeekBeacon hosts an OSS conference called GBF at least once a year.  This time around we have gotten some sponsorship from SuSe and will be using the funds to pay for the resources we need like (ReStream) and maybe with enough funding we should be able to provide some thank you gift to the speakers who grace us with their presence.  We also had the opportunity to use OC's tooling to organize the event.  It was really nice to consolidate all the donations and ticket sales all under one platform.  Though there were quirks we ran into (back in February) we look forward to keep using OC as transparent platform of how we are utilizing the funds collected.

 

We are slowly getting better at setting up GBF events and would love to make a formula that would allow anyone with a little bit of effort to put together an event.  We really appreciate the transparency of OC combined with the general accessibility of technology that allows us to connect people from all walks of life to grow, learn and thrive together.  

What are your plans for 2023? Anything exciting coming up?
