About

Glasgow Community Seed Cooperative is a grassroots and member-led project supporting seed sovereignty in Scotland.

We work with local growers, community gardens, food and land justice projects, ecologists, artists and researchers. We aim to create, revive and celebrate practices and cultures of growing, saving and sharing seeds in Glasgow and beyond.

We care for and maintain an open, accessible library of seed for growers and seedsavers in Glasgow. At present, the seeds can be browsed and deposited in a cabinet hosted by The Mitchell Library in the city centre.

In our work, we hope to nurture ecological diversity, support food sovereignty both locally and globally, and build community-led climate resilience and adaptation.

We dream of just worlds where people live in reciprocal relationship with the land and where seed saving is our shared practice of resistance and flourishing.
