Progress update
Published on January 29, 2026 by Glasgow Solidarity Pride
We're excited to be in the lead-up to Pride 2026!
Right now, there's a lot going on behind the scenes. We're arranging banking options to support the sustainability of the event (so that we can keep funds separate from our personal bank accounts, have an easy way to accept donations, support our upcoming fundraisers and pay for venue hire).
We've been talking to local community groups, mutual aid organisations and trade unions. We're prioritising getting input from groups doing work for Palestine, racial justice, and trade unions but we're hoping to hear from a range of groups including those focused on sexual liberation and disability justice. We are a trans- and disabled-led organisation.
We're also currently planning some fundraisers and talking to local community venues. We're excited to incorporate as many parts of our community as possible and will include a mix of 18+ events; masking-compulsory events; and sober, family friendly events.
We're also shortlisting venues for the event itself in July. All venues will be considered in accordance with accessibility by public transport (both from different parts of the city and from nearby towns and cities) to reduce financial barriers. We'll also be considering accessibility for wheelchair and cane users and options for masking for at least some of the event.
