SUN 9/10 Knife Sharpening Workshop: What to Bring
Published on September 9, 2023 by Eileen S. Ho
Hello, workshop participants! (Others interested in joining us, you can still sign up for this special event!)
We look forward to seeing you in the Japanese Knife Sharpening workshop with Eien Hunter-Ishikawa. Please bring the following items with you:
- 2 towels or rags
- at least one kitchen knife
Your knife can be Japanese* or Western. Note that it’s easier to learn on a larger one such as a chef’s, santoku, nakiri, and so on, but smaller knives can work too. You can bring several knives and Eien can help you choose the best one to use in the workshop session.
We will provide other supplies needed for sharpening your knives, including the 1000/6000 combo King KW-65 sharpening stone (which you can take home if you purchased one).
