About

GreenCode is an open-source sustainable software engineering platform and Software Carbon Intensity (ISO/IEC 21031 / GSF SCI v1.0) quality gate distributed under the Apache License 2.0.

What GreenCode Does:
1. Multi-Language Static Energy Analysis: Parses 13+ programming languages (Python AST, JavaScript, TypeScript, Go, Rust, Java, C, C++, C#, Ruby, PHP, Bash, and SQL via Tree-sitter) at zero LLM token cost to detect 15 Green Software Foundation (GSF) energy anti-patterns before code merges.
2. Hardware Energy Telemetry & Provenance: Reads physical CPU and DRAM energy counters on Linux hosts (Intel/AMD RAPL, Scaphandre, Linux perf, and battery sensors) with explicit provenance flags so theoretical estimates are never misreported as hardware measurements.
3. Amazon Alexa+ MCP Server & Amazon Bedrock Refactoring: Provides a self-hosted Model Context Protocol (MCP) server over Streamable HTTP (< 500 ms latency, OAuth 2.1 PKCE) and an Amazon Bedrock Converse API refactoring engine backed by a 4-stage behaviour-preserving execution verification gate.
4. AWS Custom Silicon & Cloud Cost Profiling: Quantifies wattage, Scope 2 carbon emissions, and monthly EC2 cost reductions across AWS Graviton4 (c8g), AWS Inferentia2 (inf2), and AWS Trainium1 (trn1), alongside real-time regional grid carbon arbitrage across 11 AWS regions.
5. Pre-Deployment CI/CD Gatekeeper & Reality Verification Pipeline: Blocks energy-regressing Pull Requests in GitHub Actions, triggers Kubernetes rollbacks on pod wattage spikes, and records HMAC-signed hardware verification verdicts in a tamper-evident SHA-256 hash-chained ledger.

How Funds Are Used:
All contributions and sponsorships directly fund:
- Bare-metal Linux CI runners with physical Intel/AMD RAPL hardware counter access for automated energy verification.
- Public hosting and tunnel infrastructure for the GreenCode MCP Server and REST API.
- Continuous maintenance of multi-language Tree-sitter energy rules, regional power-grid telemetry adapters, and open-source documentation.
