I hope you are all well, keeping warm and dodging COVID, the flu and everything else winter... I just wanted to quickly update you on our most recent two gigs and what is next for halaو
In the two recent gigs we hosted 6 incredible musicians (1 band) and compensated them with a total of $1,212.28 for a 30 mins set per artist, all which you can see in our online transactions here on OpenCollective except for one payment of $170 which was given to one of the artists in Dunedin through the cash donations that were collected. We had a total of approximately 80 guests for both shows and its all thanks to each and everyone one of you. We haven't been able to donate to charity in the last two gigs because we wanted to ensure that our artists are paid kindly and due to the venues being small the number of donations and tickets sold, in addition to paying a $149 for cloud storage (a donation I made to halaو). All the finances are online and if you have any questions please do not hesitate to get in touch for clarification.
I am meeting with funding advisers at Creative New Zealand this month to discuss funding options and hala eligibility so if you know any people there please tell them how much you love us <3 We are also looking into holding a gig in Wellington before the 6th of September and another one in Dunedin around the same time or early October.
