Helping the Helpers

Considering the ongoing humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza, 25 active Gaza Hub Shapers, young civic leaders, have been severely affected by the war. These individuals have been instrumental in supporting their surrounding communities even during the deteriorating situation but are now in urgent need of assistance themselves and for their small families as displacement threats are looming over, and breaking news of invading Gaza city of 2.1 million people is rampant. 

While the breaking news of an imminent ground invasion and occupation of Gaza City is increasing, the Shapers are continuously facing the fear of being unable to relocate to the southern Gaza Strip as they have no available places, nor houses, nor apartments. Not even tents. This may lead some Shapers to stay in Gaza city due to financial deficits to pay rent in the south, which is going higher as time passes.

Financial support is urgently needed for the Gaza Shapers to help them in covering any occurring rent fees they should pay to landlords. In addition, this will be of assistance in purchasing food items, medicine, water, and any other personal and customised needs.

By this assistance, we will significantly contribute to reducing the financial burden these young leaders have been bearing since the eruption of the war. While the prices of accommodation, food, medicine, and water are increasing, this assistance is significant and will be as a relief. With this assistance, we are sending a message of solidarity and support to the Shapers. As we continue to adopt this approach of helping the helpers, the supported young civic leaders will be able to give back to their communities.
