A reference for error discussions
Published on January 13, 2022 by Joe Schoonover

As we get closer to our livestream for this week, there are a couple more references that I would like to share with you to help you on your journey in Spectral Element Methods.

In this week's whiteboarding session, I'll briefly touch on truncation and aliasing errors. Because the proof relating modal coefficient decay rate to function smoothness is a bit lengthy. A good read to familiarize yourself with both truncation and aliasing errors is in Chapter 2 of "Spectral Methods : Fundamentals in Single Domains" by Canuto, Hussaini,  Quarteroni, and Zang.
