I had a molar come up with no enamel on the top as a teenager, but had no access to dentistry from the age of 18 until I turned 30.
The filling I got through community dentistry has fallen out and I am experiencing significant pain and distress thanks to the tooth. The NHS dentist I managed to see has said that if I am to keep the tooth, it will be through a specialist performing a root canal. No such specialists exist on the NHS.
The £114 is the price of a consultation with a private endodontist, to find out if we can save the tooth. I'd like to have teeth. They are useful.
