Ice Bloc Minneapolis is a collection of neighbors looking out for each other in the summer when temperatures can be dangerous for people without housing. We primarily do this by distributing ice and sports drinks/electrolyte drink powders to unhoused people. This is the third year it has existed, but the first year we're working with Open Collective.

While this Open Collective is legally a charity, this action is not one of help or charity but done in the spirit of caring for our community. We all prosper when we take care of each other. We keep us cool isn't just a slogan, it's an expression of our power and shared stake in the world.

Our biggest expenses this early in the year are around restocking. Mostly coolers and sources of electrolytes. As it heats up these things are going to be in fluctuating supply. The goal at the moment is to buy 20 coolers with wheels to lend to distributors, and 24 bottles of sports drinks or an equivalent amount of water and electrolyte powder packets for each cooler.
