About
Naya Nepal Samajik Sanstha (नयाँ नेपाल सामाजिक संस्था) is a profit non-distributing social organization in Nepal working to support people who have been denied citizenship and related identity rights. We advocate for fair, practical, and rights-based solutions for affected individuals and families, especially women, children, and marginalized communities facing discrimination, delay, and mistreatment in administrative processes.
Our work has contributed to important progress. In 2022, advocacy connected to our movement helped advance the resolution of the janmasiddha citizenship issue, benefiting around 620,000 people. More recently, continued advocacy helped push forward legal change allowing citizenship through the mother's name, which is expected to benefit around 1.6 million people.
We also support affected communities through awareness, case guidance, documentation, and discussions to establish help desks in CDO offices across Nepal so people can access practical support in every district.
