Cutting diagrams edge bandings colour

I don't know if this issue has already been discussed, so please excuse me if it is no longer relevant. In the cutting diagram of sheet materials, the edge bandings of the plates are represented with blue color regardless of the color or thickness assigned to the edge banding. The operator of a edge banding machine will not know which edge band to apply and on which sides. I have attached a screenshot of CutList Optimizer where the edges are illustrated with different colors if their thickness is different. As shown in the image, CutList Optimizer has this useful function. Is there a function in OPC that I am not aware of how to use? Thank you in advance for your response.. I am a huge fan of OCL and I do not want to use any other apps especially if it make things much more complicated.

I hope this didn't sound like an advertisement for other products because I love OCL and the way it was designed.

Hi Andrei,

Thank you for enjoying OpenCutList 😊 !

Yes, the blue line in cutting diagrams only represent's the data that there's an edge band to apply.
And to obtain more data about edges, the best way is to :
- display the Parts list following the cutting diagram with the 4 edges columns
- Print Labels where you can render all of this data
I understand that this answer is not exactly what you want. But using parts list or print labels is not a good solution in your process ?

---

The best compromise could be to use the edge material color defined in sketchup instead of the common "blue" color. But in this case how can we render white edges ??

The Cutlist optimizer solution only solve 50% of the problem. Because it only represent the thickness, not the "kind" of edge material...

Great response! I think this will do the trick. I had no idea that I can set this column to appear in the cutting diagram from the parts menu. I kept searching for a solution from the Display option after activating the cutting diagram menu. Nice to know the reasoning behind every tool and option. I can hardly wait for the Exploded view. Great job and greetings from Romania!

Yes the 4 edges columns are only visible in cutting diagram parts list if they are visible in global parts list by unchecking Hide the columns of edge bandings option.

Thanks again! I hope this post helps other users that didn't figure out this simple setting.
