Yes we have this in mind, but have to find the best way to do it. Currently you can change grain direction by reordering axis list in part property dialog.
All the tools one needs are already implemented. Note that the grain always runs along the length of a part (red axis) unless you have selected the option "Automatic orientation of parts" in the Options. In that case, the greatest dimension will be interpreted as the length. You can always override that interpretation in the Part Properties by rearranging length, width and thickness and locking on the axes.
If you have a panel with the grain running across the width, you must switch the dimensions when you enter it. A panel of 2500 x 1250 mm with grain running along the width = 1250 mm, must be entered as 1250 x 2500 mm. Using a convention to designate length, width and thickness of a part, otherwise OpenCutList would not be able to guess what you mean.
