Session is in a few days

Hi students,
The session will be from 6-9pm on Tuesday, 29th October. I'll be printing more of the designs we used last time, but also some ghosts and goblins for those that want a themed carve. If you're keen to make your design, please print it out at the appropriate size. Some examples of the level of complexity that are very attainable for a first time carver (you can always add more detail at the end if you have time):

I've been trying to source some more yellow cedar from my local supplier, but unless he gets his act together, we'll only have 175mm squares to work with. If I can get more wood, I'll cut some longer pieces to work with it you'd prefer.
Thinking about fine carving, which was a problem last time, I realise that we actually already a few knives designed for chip carving, which would help, because the gouges we have are a bit large for the appropriate scale of work. I've also bought a very small bent gouge, ideal for flattening out small holes in the design. The limit is more the time we have than complexity of the design you choose!
If desired, we can coat the carvings with boiled linseed oil at the end of the session.
Regards,
Bil
