About
We are collecting unwanted laptops (and desktops) and refurbishing them for those that need them. This involves cleaning any personal data from them, a fresh install of Windows and replacing components as needed. The most efficient way to do this is to replace any hard drives with fast, low power SSDs (older machines often have weak batteries) and increasing memory - one or both of these improvements are often sufficient to increase performance on even older machines to run modern operating systems.
We will provide machines to CICs, charities, schools (for remote learning) or the NHS (for needy clients). We do not provide anything to individuals who approach us, but can give advice on how they might best get a machine from one of our partners. Please contact us if you'd like to receive one or more refurbished computers for your group.
During COVID, we gave over 150 laptops to schools, but now the machines are mainly being given to Ukrainian refugees.
