MAMAS End of Year Update
Published on December 21, 2022 by Skylar Karzhevsky
Hi neighbors!
Thank you for being here during our first year with OpenCollective. Your patience, flexibility, and generosity with this transition to a new donation and reimbursement structure has been instrumental in MAMAS' financial success this year. MAMAS working groups have put together a slideshow to answer important questions that OpenCollective asked us to report on as 2022 comes to an end. Images of the slides will be embedded at the end of this post. Alt text is available in the slideshow. There's lots to read and see, so we encourage everyone to check out our first "Summary" slide, and explore updates from working groups that might be interesting to you! Transparency and accountability are important to MAMAS, and we are excited to share our wins (and challenges) with you.
Financial support keeps MAMAS going, but a strong theme of our report is lack of capacity. If you have been considering getting involved with MAMAS in a big or small way, we have lots of opportunities with varying time commitments. Getting involved with a new group can be scary! We encourage you to reach out if you're curious. When we spread out the work, our network is resilient!
If you have any questions, comments, or ideas, please comment or send us an email at [email protected].
Wishing you all a happy end-of-year season!
With love and solidarity,
MAMAS
