About
I belonged to the Spiral collective that published Keri Hulme's the bone people in 1984, alongside two formidable Māori women — the late Irihapeti Ramsden and the late Miriama Evans. Today, I'm very privileged to support an equally formidable new generation to adapt the bone people.
I have some useful 21st century skills and experience that may help. An advanced law degree (LLM with Distinction), a PhD that researched gender and feature film development in Aotearoa New Zealand, film-making — scriptwriting (with an award), a feature documentary, some short films.
Most of all, pre-#metoo international activism related to my PhD research confirmed our experience with the local and global success of the bone people: collaborating across physical and cultural borders can be deeply satisfying.
It's easier to collaborate than it used to be: online relationships can flourish in unexpected ways. I'm looking forward to welcoming the unexpected through this channel.
[draft only, more/different to come]
