January update
Published on February 2, 2024 by Patrick Dersjant
It's a wrap. Another eventless month with a quietly running Drum, just as I like it.
Wait. What is that? A critical security update? Technically, this was released in February (yesterday), but as the update still has to be written and it was announced in January I will cover it here anyways. It looks like the security issue would allow anybody to pass off as anybody else. More details are not available yet - the Mastodon team has wisely decided to wait for two weeks before giving more details. But quick action is necessary. Luckily the stars aligned (read: all parties needed, such as the yunohost team supporting our server platform, reacted quickly) and we're now up to date and protected within 24 hours of the patch being released!
Thanks for your continued support of the Drum!
Financials for January (It seems the 'quote code' is broken on opencollective now so excuse the lack of formatting):
