About

MHISA is a grass-roots organization committed to addressing the societal and structural barriers which prevent South Asian-Americans from accessing mental health care. Our primary goals are to:

1) Educate South Asian communities about the relationships between mental health, substance abuse, and gun violence

2) Decrease the marginalization of South Asians struggling with mental health illnesses

3) Advocate for evidence-based policies which reduce gun violence in relation to mental illness
