Adopting Collective Funds Guidelines 0.1
Published on August 22, 2024 by Pelle Wessman

The Mocha project has adopted the newly created Collective Funds Guidelines 0.1, that it was part in creating, and will going forward apply these best practices to ensure that maintenance of the project is revitalized further, to the benefit of users and the wider ecosystem.

We have been working with other projects and co-maintainers on this first version of the Collective Funds Guidelines and uses ourselves as the guinea pig for this – dogfooding the guidelines and gathering feedback, pushing the standards and best practices in this area to new levels – both inside and outside the OpenJS Foundation.

In the words of Chad Whitacre, Head of Open Source at Sentry and open source funding extraordinaire:

I love this. With http://osspledge.com we aim to increase project budgets significantly. Flip side is projects need to get organized on spending it well. Let’s go!!!

This is hopefully the start of a new area and we can't be more excited to enter it together with you all!

Thanks for all current, historic and future support from each and everyone of you current, former and future backers and sponsors – we and Mocha appreciate you!

/ Pelle, on behalf of the Mocha Maintenance Crew

Very cool! Do you mind if we share this in our monthly newsletter to all the OSC hosted collectives?

I'm a bit unsure whether I'm receiving that newsletter by the way, how do I double check?

Ah! It is sent automatically to every admin hosted by OSC and should be sent to the email you receive platform alerts from.

We just sent it out today and it was sent from the account 'Open Source Collective <[email protected]>' in case it ends up in the spam filter.

I have not received it – I have received alerts about payouts etc but not this newsletter and I checked my settings and I can’t see that I would be opted out from it – and it’s not in my spam folder

BUMMER! I'll take a look to see why it's not getting to you.
